The Guides for this issue are the Snake (corresponding to Scorpio) and the Elk (corresponding to Sagittarius). They are of the West Quarter, direction of the Grizzly Bear (featured last issue).
The West Medicine Shield is Water. Its colors are blue and black and it represents introspection. Its lessons are the sacred dream states, shamanism, ancient journeys, compassion, strength and self balance.

Being silhouetted behind Man, the Elk raises regalness in Man to provide of self and respect for others.
Gathering all around Man that which is of value, the Elk safely accesses strengths past, present and future for Man to ration himself with.
Stressing valuable strength of character, the Elk stands steadfast with Man as his brother, taking trust and reserve of self as needed.
Acting well within his abilities, the Elk watches over Man's vision of himself. Affecting beauty and grace, the Elk uses aspects of man to build want of all there is to Man's self.
Guaranteeing rapture with all parts of self, the Elk moves Man closer to himself each time he approaches. |
