Selenite
Selenite is a form of gypsum (hydrous calcium sulfate). On the hardness scale it rates a 1.5 to 2. This means that, although Selenite crystals can be very beautiful to gaze upon, they are too soft for jewelry. Although Selenite ornaments are very delicate, its natural crystalline shape is so exquisite that it is often called satin spars."
There are several metaphysical uses for Selenite:
1) It cleanses or recharges other gemstones and minerals. Place the stone to be cleansed or charged next to a Selenite crystal that is pointing to an energy source. The Selenite will draw in the energy and radiate it through the stone. This cleanses or recharges the stone in a matter of seconds.
2) It can be used for protection.
3) It can be used to bring good fortune.
4) It is said to enhance the ability to see the future.
5) It is said that Selenite placed on a subject's forehead, reduces fever and lowers blood pressure.
